This year Morzine is hosting the penultimate stage of the Tour de France, the world’s most prestigious annual cycling event. During this important mountain stage the riders will climb up to Morzine from Mégeve through the Aravis, the Col de Colombiere, the Col de la Ramaz and eventually the Col de Joux Plane. They’ll be whizzing straight past our three chalets on Saturday 23rd July in a race to the centre of town where the final positions of the General Classification riders will be decided before the ultimate showdown on the Champs Elysées in Paris the following day.

This year is particularly special for Morzine because it is also a stage town for L’Etape du Tour which takes place on Sunday, 10th July. This is a fantastic opportunity for amateur cyclists to ride part of the same route under the same conditions as the pros; a promise that L’Etape du Tour has kept since 1993. Over 15,000 cyclists take part in this event each year and Morzine are proud to be hosting them and all of their supporters this summer!

We are fortunate enough to operate four properties on the 2016 Tour de France and Etape du Tour routes, all offering exceptional viewing conditions for what’s sure to be some seriously exciting action! Whether you’re a cycling fanatic or not, the atmosphere in Morzine will undoubtedly be electric during the weeks surrounding these prestigious events so if you’re keen to soak up some of the magic, please get in touch!

But it’s not just these special events that make Morzine such a great place to visit in the summer months. If you’ve never experienced the mountains in the summer, it’s about time you did! As the snow disappears, the vast golf-courses and stunning lakes reveal themselves, inviting you to enjoy them in the warm sun. Morzine retains its Savoyarde charm and vibrant energy throughout the summer months, offering a wealth of activities for all ages. Ski lifts operate so that you have access to hundreds of kilometres of glorious footpaths and varied mountain bike trails. The list of adventure sports available is endless but you can just as easily spend time relaxing by the lakes or strolling around the markets in town; there really is something for everyone!
