What’s on in Morzine in August
The weather is top notch and we’re having a wonderful summer here in Morzine! The team have been getting fully involved in many of the events taking place here, and also throwing themselves into new activities (check out our rafting photos on Facebook or Instagram). So July has certainly been a fun one, now we cant wait for Morzine in August.

Entertainment in Morzine in AUGUST
Who doesn’t love a good pub quiz? With a different theme every week and the guarantee of a good giggle, our favourite local quiz master, Will, is back at L’Aubergade every Monday in Morzine in August! Come on down with your team for just €2 per person and see if you’ve got what it takes to win the pot. There will also be prizes for 2nd and 3rd place so make sure you don’t miss out. We recommend you book a table to avoid disappointment!

What’s your go-to jam? We would love to hear it! Serenade us under the stars at L’Aubergade for a night of music and fun. Whether you’re performing or not, it’s always a great evening for everyone. What’s more, the performers even get free drinks!

Les Gets Lounge Music Festival is back for its 9th year in a row! Enjoy 2 weeks of great music taking place in both indoor and outdoor locations around Les Gets. There will be 50 concerts with a variety of genres, all absolutely free! Don’t miss this brilliant opportunity to discover new some new artists in the area.
AUGUST 5th – AUGUST 18th
If you enjoy a mix of folk, vintage pop, prog rock and contemporary classical music, then this one really is for you! Get on down to The Cavern on August 7th and enjoy critically-acclaimed Franco-Scottish Joshua, taking some time out to play a special one off with his band!

As you already know, we absolutely Le Tremplin’s terrace and nothing beats the beats of DJ Lady Eliza. Combined, this is the perfect afternoon of refreshing drinks and chilling after a day on the mountains.

festivals and events COMING TO TOWN in morzine in august
Famously, every year, on the first Saturday in August, the Mairie puts on a spectacular fireworks display at Lac de Montriond known as ‘Feu de Lac’. Enjoy the bright colours in the sky whilst enjoying a drink or 2 from the stalls and stands around the lake. There is also live music afterwards, so definitely don’t miss out on this one!
AUGUST 3rd from 16:00 – LATE
A beach in the mountains … you might be wondering how this is possible? As one of the Portes du Soleil’s many crazy but fantastic ideas, they have decided to turn the town centre into a beach. From volleyball, zumba classes to building sandcastles, there really is fun for all to be had on this fine day!
AUGUST 7th – AUGUST 8th
It’s time to dig out your dancing shoes because Avoriaz Dance Festival is back for it’s 6th year running! Enjoy a whole week of dancing with hours on end of tuition for over 40 teachers, covering a wide variety of genres.
Tickets cost €99 for seven days and €63 for three days; a great week for anyone looking for something a little different!
AUGUST 17th – AUGUST 24th
Get ready the ultimate Golf and Poker Masters competition, where how you perform on the golf course determines how many chips you get in poker later that day. If you’re a lover of both golf and poker then be sure not to miss this brilliant event taking place in Les Gets.

AUGUST 17th from 08:30 – 23:00
Fitness events and on the mountain in morzine in august
If you missed the 4×4 trials a few weeks ago in Ardent, then don’t worry! You can catch the next stage of the event in Les Gets. Psych yourself up for a weekend of off-road vehicles of all shapes and sizes trying to make their way around a challenging off road course. What’s more, there will also be food and refreshments available throughout the day and live music on the Saturday evening.
AUGUST 3rd – 4th
The Morzine – Avoriaz Bike Climb, or the ‘Grimpée Cycliste’, is one of the oldest cycle races in France. It is renowned for being a casual race that absolutely anyone can participate in!
Starting from Route d’Avoriaz, the 14.6km route has a time of 33 minutes to beat which was set 27 years ago. If you would like to take part then get yourself on down to the Morzine Maria on the 4th at 9am. You got this!
AUGUST 4th from 09:00 – 12:00
The Cyclosportive Thomas Voeckler race is back! Organised by the pro cycler himself, these races are for all abilities, with the aim of everyone having a fun day and conquering those mountain passes. This brilliant event brings all bikers together, so why not bring yours along and take part?
AUGUST 24th – AUGUST 25th
If electrical mountain biking is more your thing then you should definitely get involved with the Bosch E-MTB Challenge! This open event takes place in Avoriaz and is made up of 3 races (families and beginners to experienced racers).

Been looking out for a running event? Well here it is! The Trial Des Gets running event is taking place in Les Gets for all levels of fitness. Try a 9km, 18km or 35km route in the mountains with the amazing views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding areas!
